The Beast Clock Upgrade – Maple Ridge City Hall
Worked with legendary steam clockmaker Mr. Ray Saunders, https://landmarkclocks.com/, we implemented a new controls system with Omron PLC/HMI for the aging hydraulic system. We removed the old relays/timers. New features to allow Ray to tune the Beast’s movement interval, add operation/curfew hours, manual jog function for troubleshooting. We brought this spectacular roadside attraction “back to life”.

The BOOM! Mill Show, winner of the TEA Thea Award in 2022.
Being part of the engineering team with Dynamic Attraction to deliver the electrical design package: motor/drive sizing, controls panel design, motion profile creation. Also provided on-site commissioning, electrical installation supervision/management. We worked with various stakeholders to overcome technical constraints, fine-tuning the show/motion profile.
Within the tight budget and schedule, we completed this amazing attraction project for the local community. A show must to see in the Sea-to-Sky Highway.
